Enact raises USD 30 million to develop robots that sense force and touch through their own actuators.

Enact has emerged from stealth with USD 30 million in pre-seed funding. Backers include redalpine, Notion Capital and firstminute capital, alongside Yann LeCun, Arthur Mensch, Andrew Lonsberry and Thomas Wolf.
The Zurich robotics company is developing a system that senses force and touch through a robot’s own actuators, rather than additional tactile sensors. It aims to improve fine manipulation in tasks with frequent variation, where conventional automation is harder to deploy. Enact says the approach enables more efficient learning and faster task execution; the announcement does not provide comparative performance measurements.
